In the pursuit of Polish absurd / W pogoni za absurdem

There is only one thing you need to know about Poland. It is a Land of Absurd. The origins of this state are probably deep in the communist period. Briefly - the ruthless Authorities created so many nonsensical laws so the people took pride in not being obedient to them. The only problem is that communism ended over twenty years ago. But the fifty years of habit can’t be overcome easily. We –the Young Generation – are fighting with our common Polish absurd that occurs in everyday life. But sometimes it’s just impossible to stand up to the task. To face the army of grannies in mohair-berets is almost as frightening as facing Satan himself. ;-)
Anyway, the other day on my walk to work, I saw this.

For those of you who do not speak polish a translation – the sign says “You mustn’t feed the birds!”. And then people are complaining about pigeons…
