The garden cress project / Projekt rzeżucha

Don’t know about you guys, but I love every green vegetable that exists. I would gladly become a vegetarian but I’m just simply too lazy. I wouldn’t take the time to compose a meal that is healthy and one which has all of the nutritional values. All this lentil and peas soaking throughout the night and the long cooking and stuff… No, this is definitely not my style. I prefer just to eat a nice piece of chicken or some juicy slice of ham. ;-) Add to this a red beet cream soup  (my newest discovery – it’s a revelation!) as a source of iron and off you go!
Anyway, regarding to my adoration of vegetables, I’ve decided to sow the garden cress. Maybe it is one day to late, but whatever. I hope it will grow till Easter. Garden cress is another polish Easter tradition. And so yummy too! :-) Pictures in the evening.

Inspiration Monday

# 8

Hello in the Holy Week. Easter is coming and I want to share with you some inspiration for decorating the eggs. Traditionally in Poland we call those decorated eggs “Pisanki”. They are a symbol of life and rebirth. The other traditional Easter decoration are “Bazie”. They are branches of willow with newly sprout buds.

My Grandma was always in charge of all of the “making” for every holyday. She had her secrets and as she was growing older, she passed some of them onto me – her only granddaughter. Unfortunately she passed away after an unexpected stroke. I know how it sounds, you may say that a stroke is always unexpected, but in this case we were prepared for a chronic disease connected with her old age, not for losing her in such a short time.
Anyway, I found this tutorial for dying Ester Eggs the same way as we always do in my family and how my Grandma always did. It was a very emotional experience just to recall all my memories connected with ornamenting Easter Eggs.
Since I take pride in who I am, I would like to show you this week how we spend Easter in Poland. Stay tuned!

{Dying Easter Eggs Tutorial / Farbowanie Pisanek w cebuli }

Witajcie w Wielkim Tygodniu.

Ladybugs / Biedronki

Have you seen the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun"?
"Ladybugs, lots and lots of ladybugs" :-) I so needed this!

Widzieliście ten film “Pod słońcem Toskanii”?
„Biedronki, mnóstwo biedronek” :-) Tego mi było trzeba!
